These Terms govern your use of Disconnections (“the App”), a daily word‑grouping puzzle that runs as a Discord Activity. By launching or playing the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.

The service

The App offers a free daily puzzle that you play inside Discord, with live presence and per‑server leaderboards. It is provided free of charge and may change or be discontinued at any time.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old and in compliance with Discord's Terms of Service.

Acceptable use

Don't cheat, automate play, or manipulate scores, leaderboards, or presence.
Don't attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse‑engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its backend.
Don't use the App to harass others or for any unlawful purpose.

We may remove scores obtained through invalid play and may reset or adjust leaderboards to keep them fair.

Your data

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we process and why. Your display name, avatar, and results are visible to other players in your server.

Intellectual property

Puzzle content is original to Disconnections: the daily puzzles are written, edited, and published by us, and they, together with the App’s design, branding, and code, are our property. You may not copy, republish, or commercially exploit the puzzles or the App without our permission. Disconnections is an independent game and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The New York Times Company.

Disclaimer

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or that leaderboards or scores will always be accurate or preserved.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App.

Termination

We may suspend or restrict access to the App for anyone who violates these Terms.

Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
